Resilience Project Online County/Community Assessment

This questionnaire will help you to assess your county/community on a variety of issues related to sustainability and resilience. We will provide you with feedback, and your input will be used to expand the ever-growing database for the Resilience Project.

For the following activities please indicate the extent of participation by farmers/ranchers in your county. Choose the appropriate number for each. Responses for no, minimal, moderate, widespread, and high level participation should be based on the percentages associated with each response. If you are unsure of the extent of participation in your county, please provide your best estimate.

Connectivity: The following items ask about farmers in your county being independent yet networked with other farmers.
Local Self-Organization: The following items ask how farmers in your county join together in successful collaborative efforts.
Accumulation: The following items ask about how farmers in your county are increasing the physical infrastructure on their farms.
Maintenance: The following items ask if farmers in your county have adequate back-up, contingency, and succession plans.
Diversity: The following items ask if farmers in your county have a diversity of crop and animal enterprises which fit together well.
Innovation: The following items ask if farmers in your county are innovative, yet respectful of traditional tried and true practices.
Ecological Integration: The following items ask if farmers in your county feel they can work together with nature.
Transformation: The following items ask if and how farmers in your county regularly transform their operations.
